About RCO Hoops

  • RCO Hoops is a basketball development program focused on helping young athletes build confidence, improve fundamental skills, and enjoy the game. Every workout follows a structured plan designed to create long-term growth, not just keep players busy.

  • Our programs are designed for athletes ages 6–18. Training is tailored to each player's age, experience, and stage of development to ensure every athlete is challenged appropriately.

  • Coach Jason is the founder of RCO Hoops and has spent more than a decade coaching youth basketball throughout Nevada. His background includes collegiate coaching experience, advanced education in athlete development, and a passion for helping young athletes grow both on and off the court.

  • We believe development should be intentional. Every workout follows a structured curriculum, players receive meaningful coaching throughout each session, and parents receive clear communication about their child's progress. Our goal isn't simply to run workouts, it's to help athletes improve with purpose.

  • Our programs are built for players who want to improve their basketball skills in a positive, structured environment. Whether your child is new to the game or already competing at a high level, we provide coaching that meets them where they are.

  • Not at all. We welcome beginners as well as experienced players. Our coaching focuses on individual growth, allowing every athlete to develop at an appropriate pace.

Training Expectations

  • Player development is more than practicing basketball skills. It means teaching proper technique, building confidence, improving decision-making, and helping athletes understand how to continue improving long after the workout ends.

  • Games are important, but players improve by learning and repeating skills correctly. Structured instruction allows athletes to build strong habits before applying them in game situations.

  • Improvement comes through consistent coaching, quality repetitions, positive feedback, and a structured progression of skills. Every workout builds on previous sessions to create lasting development.

  • Yes. Coach Jason provides instruction, corrections, encouragement, and feedback throughout every session. We believe every athlete deserves personal attention, regardless of skill level.

  • Parents shouldn't have to guess. We communicate openly about player development and provide Development Reports during select programs so families understand where their athlete is progressing and where they can continue improving.

  • Development Reports provide parents with a snapshot of their child's current strengths, areas for growth, and recommended next steps. They are designed to give families meaningful feedback, not generic praise.

Programs

  • Throughout the year we offer seasonal camps, small group training, private training, and other development opportunities designed to meet athletes where they are.

  • Camps provide high-energy group instruction over multiple days. Small groups allow for more personalized coaching in a limited-size setting. Private training focuses entirely on one athlete's individual development goals.

  • That depends on your child's age, experience, goals, and schedule. If you're unsure, we'd be happy to help you determine which option is the best fit.

  • Consistency matters more than intensity. Athletes who practice regularly while allowing time for rest tend to see the greatest long-term improvement.

  • Absolutely. Many athletes combine camps, small group training, and private lessons throughout the year to continue developing different skills.

Parent Expectations

  • Parents can expect honest coaching, positive communication, organized workouts, and a commitment to helping every athlete improve in a supportive environment.

  • We ask athletes to arrive ready to learn, work hard, listen, encourage, and maintain a positive attitude throughout each session.

  • Encourage consistent practice, celebrate effort as much as results, and allow your child to enjoy the learning process without placing unnecessary pressure on performance.

  • No. Every athlete develops differently. Our focus is helping each player make meaningful progress based on their own starting point, not someone else's.

  • Development isn't about ranking children. It's about helping each athlete become a more confident, skilled, and complete player than they were yesterday.
